Follow the steps below to configure these advanced settings to optimize menu management:

Changing a modifier's placings

Modifiers play an important role in making menus more flexible. They allow customers to personalize their orders with extra ingredients or specific requests. Learn how to edit a modifier group

Changing minimum and maximum for modifiers

Minimum and maximum gives you the ability to limit and control the customer's choices for a dish

  • No limit (default): the customer is not required to select a modifier and can select as many as they like
  • Equal minimum and maximum: if the same number is set for both, the customer must select that number of modifiers. For example, if both minimum and maximum are set to 2, the customer must choose no more and no less than 2 modifiers
  • Different minimum and maximum: allows the customer to choose a range of modifiers. For example, setting the minimum to 0 means the customer is not required to select a modifier, but they can choose up to the maximum allowed
  • Minimum: Setting a minimum to 1 ensures that a modifier must be selected when the main item is added to an order.

Adding additional pricing

Some modifiers can be added to an item for an additional price. For example, cheese for salad can be added for an additional 1$. Additional prices can be added only to modifiers that are items. Learn more about adding additional price to modifiers

Routing modifiers to different locations

Sometimes, a modifier is sent to a different kitchen station than the lead item. For example, in a salad with grilled chicken, the salad, which is the lead item, goes to the salad kitchen station, while the grilled chicken is sent to the grill kitchen station. Learn more about modifier routing

Editing a Modifier name

In some cases, item names should be displayed differently than the item's default name, especially in customer-facing situations. For example, the item 'Crispy Bacon' will look more appealing than just 'Bacon' as an add-on for a burger. Learn how to edit a Modifier name here
