Routing a modifier

Sometimes, a modifier is sent to a different kitchen station than the lead item. For example, in a salad with grilled chicken, the salad, which is the lead item, goes to the salad kitchen station, while the grilled chicken is sent to the grill kitchen station.

  To route a modifier, make sure the modifier is an item (i) and not free text. Learn more here

Follow the steps below to learn how to route a modifier:

First, make sure the item modifier is routed to the relevant kitchen station

  1. In Tabit Office, go to Menu>Items. Locate and select the modifier item

  2. Under Routing, you will see the kitchen stations to which the item is routed. To edit it, select the Edit Icon

  3. And, Check the relevant kitchen station from the list, then select Save

     

Once you've connected the modifier item to the appropriate kitchen station, activate the routing parameter. You can do this in two ways:  through the lead item or through the modifier group

Through the lead item

 

  1. Go to Menu>Items locate and select the lead item
     
  2. Then, select the Edit Icon next to the Modifiers section

  3. Now, select the Edit Icon next to the modifier group

  4. Select the Modifier and check the Route By Modifier Box. Then select Save

     

     

Through the modifier group

 

  1. Go to Menu>Modifier Groups. Locate and select the modifier group, and select one of the Edit Icons 

  2. Now, select the Modifier and check the Route By Modifier Box. Then select Save

     

  3. Select Publish on the top right to update the changes to the PAD
