Offline mode enables a Site to continue working if there is a temporary internet outage.
Offline Mode is intended to be used in emergency situations only, as working with Store & Forward has risks associated. When transactions are ran offline, there is no way to know if the transaction will be approved/declined until after returning to an online state. This is why it is imperative to gather the consumers name and phone number when running the Store & Forward transaction. Failure to do so may result in declined payments that cannot be reconciled due to no way available to contact the consumer. All Sites continue to require connectivity redundancy
Tabit Guest and Tabit Kitchen (KDS) are not supported by Offline Mode
If only the Payment Gateway and/or the processor is unavailable, payments should be moved to Store & Forward, but the Site does not need to be moved to Offline Mode.

How will I know if there is an issue?
If the cloud at the bottom of the PAD screen is green, connectivity to the cloud is stable there is no need to move to Offline mode.
A red cloud indicates that there is no connectivity to the cloud.
There will also be a pop-up as seen below.
If the LAN is still maintained, the Spooler should be used to broadcast the above message to individual PADs to move to Offline Mode.
If the LAN is unavailable, the Spooler will not be able to communicate with individual PADs so they will have to be moved manually to Offline Mode.
How do I move a Site to Offline Mode?
-
On the Spooler, tap Go Offline. This will push all PADs connected to it to Offline Mode
-
There will be a notification on the individual PADs as seen below. While in Offline Mode, there will be yellow bars at the top and bottom of the screen, and the cloud at the bottom of the screen will be yellow
A PAD can only be moved to Offline Mode by a Manager Profile
