What's the difference between an item and an offer?
An item is the basic definition of a menu item. It includes details such as the item's name, category, VAT, and fixed components, including decision groups and modifier groups.
For example, a burger item may always include lettuce, tomato, and onion, as well as options to add cheese (Modifier Group) or select the meat temperature (Decision Group).
An offer is a sellable version of an item at a specific price. This means that the same item can be sold at different prices, such as a lunch price and a happy hour price, without creating duplicate items.
It can also include additional items, such as drinks or sides, without changing the original item definition.
In reports, sales from all offers are still grouped under the same item.
I created a new item, but it's not showing up in the menu. Why?
Creating an item in the catalog is not enough for it to appear in a menu. The item must also be added to the relevant menu view, such as the PAD view or a Tabit Order menu.

What's the difference between a Decision Group and a Modifier Group?
A Decision Group is a list of items or free-text options linked to a main item. Only one option can be selected. If a default option is configured, it can be replaced with another option. Decision groups are used for simple, essential selections, such as choosing the type of milk for coffee or the meat temperature for a steak.
A Modifier Group is a group of items or free-text options that are included with an item by default or are available to add or remove. Items in a Modifier Group may have an additional price when added, and multiple items can be selected.

What is an Open Item?
An open item is an item that does not have a fixed price. It provides a quick solution when an item you need to charge for does not already exist in the PAD menu, such as a temporary item or a weekly special.
