How to add a menu category in Tabit Order

Adding a new section to Tabit Order is a straightforward process. Follow these steps below to create and customize your categories for takeaway, delivery, and eat-in services:

  1. In Tabit Office, go to Customer Order > Customer View > Add Menu
  2. Enter the name of the new category (folder) and select Add

  3. Customize the new category: Select the newly created folder to access customization options

    • Folder name: Modify the name as needed.
    • Order Timing: Set the folder for regular, future, or both timings.
    • Scheduling: Assign preset time slots, or leave it available at all times.
    • Show in Order Types: Choose if the menu is available for Eat-In, Delivery, Takeaway, or all.
    • Cat Status: Activate or disable the category’s visibility on your Tabit Order website

  4. Additional Customization Options:
    • Add Folders: Create subfolders within the category.
      Note: Folder images are only visible on mobile devices for 2nd and 3rd level folders
    • Add Items: Select items from your catalog to display on your online ordering platform. If multiple offers exist, you'll be prompted to choose the desired one after selecting the main item

        Items and folders can be easily dragged and dropped to reorder them.

    • Add Offers: Directly search and select specific offers if multiple exist for an item
    • Menu Properties: Access additional customization settings, including image display options

  5. Menu Display Options:

    • Cards Display: Choose how your items appear on the platform:
      Card View Horizontal Card View Vertical Card View Simple Item View

    • Hide Images for Category
    • Enable Quick Add: Allow items to be added with a single click.
    • Offer Description: Decide whether to display item descriptions.
    • Image Distribution: Set how images are arranged for mobile devices:
      • Auto (system-adjusted)
      • Contain

      • Cover

    • Image Height: Specify the image size
    • Background Color: Choose a background color for the image (visible only on mobile devices)

  6. Final Options:
    • Duplicate Menu: Clone the entire menu setup.
    • Clear Menu Contents: Remove all items and settings (irreversible action).
