How to enable the keyboard for KDS on non-Apple devices

If you are unable to open the KDS app on a Windows based machine, follow the steps below to troubleshoot and identify what may be causing this behavior

  1. On the KDS device, open the notification center and confirm Tablet mode is NOT enabled

  2. To ensure that you don't lose any on-screen keyboard functionality, search for Touch Keyboard Settings and open it from the search

  3. Set Show the touch keyboard when not in table mode and there's no keyboard attached to ON

  4. Now the KDS app should be opening to the foreground automatically. If the issue persists, please contact Tabit Support
