There are a few steps that you can take to ensure your printers are working properly, and if they are not, how to get them back online.
Check the Network
Make sure your internet/network is up and running and that your PADs are connected to the correct WiFi
Check the Physical Printer
-
Make sure the printer is turned on and plugged in. It's common for them to get unplugged or accidentally turned off when moving them to clean around them
-
If your printer is plugged in and has power, check that the network cable is plugged into the back of the printer. The network cable is called a cat5 or cat6 cable and looks like a phone cord but with a bigger connecting end, as seen below
The ports for these cable are located on the back and bottom of the printers
-
Ensure that the cat5/cat6 cable is also plugged into the wall
-
On Epson TM30s there are two blue lights: one signifying the power is on (left side) and the other signifying that there is a valid network connection
Check the PAD
-
Log into the PAD under a Manager profile
-
Select Operations in the top right corner
-
Select Printers > Setup Printers
-
Here you will find a list of all the printers currently set up in Tabit Office
To the right of each printer name there is an indication of the printer's status
-
When the light is green you can perform a test print by tapping the Print icon in the middle of the rectangular bar
Item Routing Issues
If all of your printers are working and connected to the network but certain Items aren't printing the issue may lie with Item Routing
Follow the steps below to resolve Item Routing issues:
-
In Tabit Office, go to Menu > Items
-
Select the relevant Item
-
Select the Pencil icon next to Routing
-
Select the relevant Printers that it should be routed to and then select Save
-
Select Publish to push the changes to the PAD
-
On the PAD, long press the Refresh all data button to pull the changes and apply them
-
Now the Items should route to the correct printer(s)
